Speaker Biography

An experienced Production Manager/Supervisor specializing in service TV commercials and long-format advertising work across Western Canada, Mia Metz services award-winning U.S. production companies with the goal of creating memorable, well-run sets. A second-generation film member, she has been on set since the age of two and, inspired by family, came into the industry through NHL broadcasting.

Mia previously led a creative team as Head of Production at MIX Vancouver & MIX Toronto, producing 250+ social campaigns in a single year. Her background also includes backend development for start-up production companies, including training staff on accounting wrap requirements.

Beyond Production Supervising, she serves as Vice-Chair of the Canadian Association of Western Canada (CPAWC) and serves on the Program Advisory Committee for BCIT’s Film & TV Program. With a passion for uniting logistics, accounting, and servicing clients, Mia continues to build and service projects alongside top directors, producers, crews, vendors, agencies, and clients.
