Black producers invited to apply to be part of BSO’s TIFF & Content Canada Delegation

Continuing the Black Creators Festival Initiative, the BSO is pleased to host a delegation of Black Canadian producers at the prestigious 2022 Toronto International Film Festival (September 9 – 12, 2022) and at Content Canada(September 13 – 14), Canadian television’s premier industry event.

Participants will receive critical support from BSO to maximize your opportunities and exposure at these events, including:
– Accreditation to both TIFF and Content Canada
– Travel and accommodation arrangements, as necessary
– BSO-curated experiences at both events
– Pre-festival preparation and orientation to help you optimize your networking and business development experience at the event
– Support from BSO to facilitate connections to buyers, producers, distributors, financiers and other industry influencers
– Assistance to set up individual meetings in a dedicated meeting space

The BSO offers an exceptional, well-supported opportunity for producers working across scripted and unscripted genres to gain wider national and international exposure through the our Black Creators Festival Initiative. “The BSO delivered more than expected,” says Kathryn Fasegha, one of the BSO’s delegates at the Cannes Festival earlier this year. “The meetings organized were targeted at our needs and it really was a blessing to make those contacts that we can follow up with post-Cannes.”

Black Canadian producers of all experience levels are invited to submit their resume and a letter of interest, maximum 500 words in English or French, outlining the value that attending one or both of these festival events would bring to their career. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, July 11, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET.

Please note: Producers who have already attended another Festival through a Black Screen Office initiative are not eligible for this opportunity.
