Studio Operations Manager

The Studio Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day facility and studio building operations, client services, staff services, physical security protocols, shipping/receiving and editorial rental space management.


  • Strong computer skills including the Office 365 suite of programs.

  • Strong English in both written aspects as well as oral communication.
  • Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.

  • General building & facility management
  • Oversees Client Services staff to guarantee client satisfaction and ensure top tier presentation of our studio
  • Oversees Staff Services to foster, build and maintain company culture within the workplace.  Helps to ensure that all employees feel connected and valued.
  • Works with property management and landlord to oversee building preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications, and installations as required.
  • Works with HVAC service vendors to arrange maintenance and on site emergency calls.
  • Oversees building physical security – keys & FOB allocation for staff and rental clients, security protocol communication and facility walk throughs
  • Works with studio janitorial vendors to ensure facilities are cleaned and maintained
  • Covid protocol management & communication to ensure company guidelines are met
  • Oversees shipping procedures/requirements
  • Works with finance and accounting to oversee post production billing
  • Receives and processes expense reports related to facilities management and maintenance
  • Editorial rental services coordination – works with sales, production and engineering to track and communicate schedules, on-site/off-site set ups/teardowns, and rooms/parking assignments.
  • Supports the studio in daily activities.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results. Takes the initiative to see that things get completed.
  • Assists in training as required.
  • Understands team members’ needs and accommodate for their best performance.
  • Supports all the facilities related issues after hours. Coordinate with Managing Director and Head of Studio on any issues that may arise.
  • Able to work extended or flexible hours as required.
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills and is results oriented.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of up to 30 lbs.
  • Has an exemplary attitude towards housekeeping, safety, and company policies.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Company’s industry and general operations of the business as well as health and safety experience (including provincial Covid protocols).


  • Previous experience in a similar studio operations role preferred.
