Artists from Vernon and beyond are encouraged to apply
The Vernon Public Art Gallery is calling for submissions from emerging creatives for Riot on the Roof, its annual alternative arts festival. Riot on the Roof prioritizes creating exposure for young talent, with this event previously attracting over 400 attendees.
Riot on the Roof will take place on August 24, 2024. Artists from Vernon and beyond are encouraged to apply.
Creative works of all kinds are desired for submission, including but not limited to:
- 2D work: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, mural etc.
- 3D work: sculpture, ceramics, installation, kinetic work, fibre art, site-specific work, etc.
- Digital work: animation, film, video, augmented reality, etc.
- Performance work: drag, comedy, slam and spoken word poetry, music, sound art, wearable art, participatory work, etc.
Riot on the Roof provides exhibition, performance, and networking opportunities to emerging creatives. Exhibiting or performing at this event is excellent for building a curriculum vitae (CV) and for introducing your work to the community. Participating creatives will receive a small honorarium (monetary compensation) for their participation.
