In response to the current shortage of Harmony-trained animators, compositors and riggers, Capilano University Continuing Studies has created the 2D Animation, Compositing and Rigging Using Toon Boom Harmony microcredential program. The program is for animators, compositors or rigging artists who have relevant experience working in the animation or VFX industry who are looking to expand their expertise and port their existing skills to the Toon Boom Harmony workflow.
Program Overview
This is a 2-week, two-course, non-credit, intensive bootcamp program. It will be delivered in an online, cohort-based format. The program will run from July 11 – 30, 2022, with a break from July 18 to 24.
To receive the microcredential, learners must take two 30-hour (one week) courses: the mandatory Introduction course plus one elective. The elective allows participants to specialize in one stream of the Harmony workflow: Compositing, Animation, or Rigging. For summer 2022, there is only one elective available: Harmony Compositor: Compositing and Outputting Final Images/Frames (part of the Compositing stream).
The program will be mostly self-paced online with daily live check-ins (Zoom) with the main instructor. Each day a new module will be released for learners to work through.
The instructor will be a virtual chat away should challenges arise.
Subsidized tuition for underrepresented groups is available.
