Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General Support: Provide day-to-day business affairs and administrative support to development, production, and finance teams. Coordinate and draft agendas for cross-departmental meetings.

Department Organization: Maintain and update organizational documents on an ongoing basis to actively track key dates and deliverables, drawdowns, contractual obligations, rights, etc.

Corporate Matters: Facilitate incorporations, track and coordinate corporate registrations and annual reports for all companies as required, and maintain the Corporate Subsidiary Chart.

Human Resources: Coordinate and draft contractor agreements as required.

Coordination and Archiving: Manage digital archiving and physical filing of key documents, agreements, chain of title documents, and applications.

Funding Applications: Track development and production funds, including deadlines and eligibility criteria. Prepare and complete applications and track ongoing contractual obligations and reporting requirements.

Tax Credit Administration: Prepare and compile all information and documentation required for completing and submitting provincial and federal tax credit eligibility and completion applications for all projects. Provide complete and expeditious responses to analysts in the review of each tax credit file.

Industry Affairs: Stay up to date on industry happenings, policies, guidelines, and collective agreement changes. Undertake research and draft informational reports on these matters for internal distribution.

Production Set-Up: Coordinate registration for CRTC, SOCAN, ISAN, complete Canadian and US copyright registrations, and create and track credit obligations.

Clearance Tracking: Conduct ongoing review and tracking of production clearance correspondence and reports, noting restrictions for broadcasters and distributors.

Deliverables and Drawdowns: Track, coordinate, and submit development and production deliverables to broadcasters, distributors, and funders. Coordinate invoicing per drawdown schedules.

Reporting: Assist the finance team in sourcing key production and contractual information as required for ongoing reporting and audit obligations across all productions.
Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years’ business affairs experience in the Canadian television industry

Strong understanding of Canadian tax credit regulations and guidelines, Canada Media Fund, and private funders, and experience completing tax credit and funding applications

Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize

Highly reliable, with the ability to self-manage, problem-solve, and exercise excellent judgment

Proficiency in Mac, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and familiarity with office management software (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)

Able to excel in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment
