Inclusive Workplaces for Film + Television Workers

Creative Pathways™, in partnership with Elevate Inclusion Strategies, provides comprehensive professional development programs at no cost to motion picture industry personnel.

 

Program Structure

Participants will deepen their understanding of anti-discrimination principles, recognize and address unconscious bias, and develop cultural awareness essential for today’s diverse production environments. The program equips crew members with practical knowledge of their roles and responsibilities in fostering workplace inclusion, while strengthening collaborative skills necessary for effective cross-cultural teamwork.

 

Outcomes

Participants will develop advanced leadership capabilities, strengthen technical expertise, and master inclusive practices that drive both individual success and industry-wide progress. The program provides strategic frameworks for navigating career advancement in today’s evolving entertainment landscape. All participants who complete the training will receive a certification of completion.

This training initiative ensures every film worker understands their fundamental right to work in environments that prioritize psychological safety and mutual respect. By participating, you contribute to industry-wide cultural transformation that enhances both individual well-being and production excellence across film and television sectors.

Eligibility

  • Must be B.C.-based
  • Experienced motion picture workers, new entrants to the industry, and students who are in non-supervisory or leadership-based roles
  • Participants are eligible to access (1) one course from the Professional Development Program towards their professional career: Inclusive Leadership in Film + TV or Inclusive Workplaces for Film + Television.  Current and past participants cannot register for and attend both courses; please carefully choose the stream that best suits your current status in motion picture.
Course Structure

This full-day session will deepen film workers’ understanding of anti-discrimination, unconscious bias and cultural awareness. Using an Occupational Health & Safety lens, participants will complete the training with a knowledge and understanding of their roles and responsibilities in creating an inclusive workplace.

 

  • Time: 9:30 am – 4 pm PT
  • Breaks: 1-hour lunch and 15-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon.
Who Should take this Course?

This course is open to B.C.-based experienced industry workers, new entrants and students who are not currently in leadership, supervisory or management roles. Individuals who are in below-the-line, post, visual effects, animation, and film adjacent careers are welcome to attend.

Cancellation Policy

This training grant is valid for up to two months from the date of your original registration. Seats are limited.

If you’re no longer able to attend, please notify the Creative Pathways™ team at least five (5) days prior to the course start date. This allows facilitators and administrators time to offer the spot to waitlisted participants.

Registrants must reschedule their session within three months of their original registration date to hold their spot.

About Natasha Tony

Natasha Tony, CEO of Vancouver-based Elevate Inclusion Strategies, is a sought-after labour relations specialist, consultant, leadership coach, trainer, and speaker. In 2022, Natasha was recognized as a Black leader in Vancouver by the Vancouver Economic Commission. Natasha is committed to applying an intersectional, human rights, and reconciliation lens to all that she does. Her deep experience in mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution supports leaders in helping them navigate the stages toward sustainable inclusion. Natasha works with corporations, businesses, crown corporations, all levels of government, labour unions, and social justice organizations. Her work requires a deep understanding of organizational structure, strategic initiatives, inclusive leadership, and human resources.

Prior to establishing Elevate Inclusion Strategies, Natasha worked for 15 years as an Extras Casting Director in the British Columbia film industry. Following that, she worked as a Labour Relations Specialist, also in the film industry. During this time, Natasha gained a reputation for working collaboratively with unions and Hollywood studios on complex workplace issues. Natasha also championed and developed the renowned Inclusive Leadership and Inclusive Workplace Training Program for the film industry, delivered across Canada and the U.S.
