Up to six participants will be selected for this highly competitive, intensive program. Key film industry advisors and mentors will offer individual, group, and market-oriented sessions so screenwriters can hone their craft through project-specific feedback and training, strengthening their ability to position their project for investment in the lead-up to the Whistler Film Festival.
Participants complete the program with a fully developed, market-ready screenplay and a carefully crafted verbal pitch and pitch deck. Participants gain an in-depth understanding of the business acumen needed for success and develop a plan for moving both their project and career forward.
Structure + Timeline
Phase 1: July + August 7-10, 2026
Includes an online introduction and mentorship, followed by a four-day in person workshop with intensive training at the spectacular Capilano University campus in Squamish, BC, for script development with personalized mentor sessions, group feedback, and screenwriting instruction.
Phase 2: September to October 2026
Includes personalized, individual mentorship that facilitates script development and pitch package preparation.
Phase 3: November 9-13, 2026
Includes four or five-day online intensive business and industry immersion experience with pitch workshops and practice sessions, business-focused industry sessions, and case studies. Phase 3 provides unparalleled access to key decision-makers in the industry along with preparations for pitching your script at the Whistler Film Festival.
Whistler Film Festival: Dec. 2-6, 2026
Participants have access to schedule 1:1 Market Meetings, masterclasses and receive one complimentary, non-transferable, industry pass to the 2026 Whistler Film Festival + Content Summit with early access to hotel partner discounts.
