We have an opening within our Lighting Department. F/T, Regular business hours weekdays, 8:00am until 5:00pm.
The Quality Control (QC) Technician supports the Lighting Department, collaborating on testing and preparing equipment for rental. This means ensuring equipment is safe, fully operational, and prepared to the highest standard for client use. QC Technicians act as a subject matter expert (SME), with a focus on specialty LED, camlocks, and high voltage equipment, reporting any electrical defects to the technical support team.
Responsibilities:
Complete testing of lighting equipment and accessories following established MBS procedures and best practices; Ensure high volume items are prioritized for testing, as directed by Quality Control Supervisor; Visually check equipment to ensure no visible damage, no exposed wires, working bulbs, outlets in good condition, and all pieces are intact; Once tested and confirmed fully operational, coil cables, clean equipment, and place into appropriate storage location; Diagnose defects and enter equipment to be repaired where applicable; Consult with Quality Control Supervisor on any questions or issues, escalating to technical support team where applicable; Adherence to health and safety policies and regulations, including but not limited to WHMIS, safe operation of equipment where applicable, electrical safety, transportation of dangerous goods (TDG), and PPE.
Qualifications:
Have film production education and/or experience is considered an asset, not required; Have hands on experience in the service industry and applicable warehouse environment; Can demonstrate a strong attention to detail; Self-starter, who can work well on own; Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; Reliable, and available to do overtime, including weekends, to support client needs as needed; Able to meet the physical demands of the job; maneuver awkward rental gear and able to consistently lift more than 50 lbs; Some knowledge of computers, including inventory software, is preferred; Demonstrate safe work practices and safe operation of equipment (Training provided);Thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being active while working; Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness of all processes.
