DOC Institute is accepting applications for the 2027 Breakthrough 2.0 Development Lab, a market-preparation program for documentary producers developing feature documentary projects.

The lab will select eight documentary producers to develop their projects and prepare to pitch them to the industry.

Through the program, participants will work on strengthening their feature documentary projects and preparing them for the marketplace.

 

At the conclusion of the program:

  • Two projects will receive $20,000 each
  • The two selected projects will also receive an industry development package

Applications open September 25, 2026, with a deadline of October 16, 2026.
