ABOUT THE FILM

The Hollow Girl is an independently produced psychological horror short written and directed by Kody Zimmermann and produced by Ghostwood Films.  The film follows a troubled teenager with unexplained powers who becomes the key to solving the disappearance of a young woman—drawing dangerous attention in the process.

We are currently in post-production and preparing the film for a major Canadian and international festival run. The short is also being developed as a proof of concept for a feature-length film.  Our team includes Executive Producer Rob Cowan, known for his work on The Conjuring franchise and other major feature productions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Lower Mainland-based illustrator, visual artist, or graphic designer to create the official festival poster / key art for The Hollow Girl.

Artists at any stage of their career are encouraged to apply—emerging artists, recent graduates and established creatives alike.

We’re looking for something striking, atmospheric, psychologically unsettling and memorable—an image that captures the emotional core of the story and makes people want to know what lies behind it.

We’re open to hand-drawn illustration, painting, digital art, collage, mixed media, experimental approaches, or a combination of illustration and graphic design. Most importantly, we’re looking for a distinctive and authentic visual voice.

We want the artwork to feel connected to the world of the film while giving the artist freedom to interpret its themes and atmosphere through their own creative lens.

YOUR ART COULD BECOME THE FACE OF THE FILM

The completed artwork will become The Hollow Girl’s primary key art and may be used for:

  • Canadian and international film festivals
  • Festival submissions and screenings
  • Our Seed&Spark crowdfunding campaign
  • Social media, press and publicity
  • Distribution and sales materials
  • Website and promotional materials
  • Future development of the feature film

The artist will receive a prominent credit wherever practical and may feature the finished work in their professional portfolio.

COMPENSATION & SCOPE

  • $500 CAD freelance fee
  • Includes one primary poster/key-art concept, collaboration with the filmmakers, up to two rounds of revisions, and final high-resolution files for print and digital use.
  • We will provide the selected artist with additional information, visual references and production stills to inspire the work.

We are actively looking to fill this opportunity and encourage early applications.

Please send:
