A Vancouver-based production is hiring a Story Associate Producer to join the post-production team on a new premium unscripted reality series.
This contract role is a good opportunity for someone with strong story instincts, excellent organization, and an interest in building a career in an unscripted story department. The Story Associate Producer will work closely with Story Editors, Editors, and Executive Producers to help shape large amounts of footage into entertaining, character-driven episodes.
Responsibilities include screening and logging raw footage, identifying key story moments, creating detailed Avid markers, pulling selects, building stringouts or rough timelines, preparing story notes and editorial documents, maintaining story trackers, and tracking storylines, timelines, continuity, and character arcs across multiple episodes.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about reality television, with a strong sense of relationship dynamics, humour, and emotion. Experience in unscripted television, production, or post-production is preferred. A working knowledge of Avid Media Composer is considered an asset.
This is a contract position based in Vancouver with a hybrid/in-office workflow. The ideal candidate will be able to start as soon as possible.
