Kamloops Film Society is hiring an Indigenous Outreach Coordinator to support meaningful community engagement and relationship-building in advance of the 2026 Stseptékwles re Sk’elép Indigenous Film Festival and future Indigenous programming initiatives.
Working closely with the KFS team, the Indigenous Outreach Coordinator will help strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, schools, artists, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community leaders throughout the Thompson-Nicola region and B.C. Interior.
This temporary, part-time, grant-funded role focuses on listening, building connections, increasing awareness of Indigenous programming opportunities, and supporting culturally respectful engagement practices. Responsibilities include developing outreach strategies, building partnerships, attending community meetings and cultural events, supporting relationships with Indigenous filmmakers and community leaders, coordinating engagement sessions, gathering feedback, creating outreach materials, and contributing to culturally safe practices within the organization.
The role may be a fit for candidates with experience in community engagement, Indigenous outreach, event planning, arts programming, project coordination, facilitation, relationship-building, and culturally respectful communications.
