The IFF is an intensive creative and business lab designed to strengthen and position scripted episodic series for the marketplace. Fellows receive strategic feedback and guidance from experienced creators, producers, and industry professionals, focusing on creative development and financing strategies. Market meetings during the Content Summit are included.
Episodic Storytelling Focus – Explore the unique structure, pacing, and character arcs that drive compelling series television, with a specific lens on Indigenous narratives.
Mentorship & Industry Engagement – Connect with Indigenous showrunners, producers, writers, and executives for guidance and insight.
Pitch Readiness – Develop a professional pitch deck, series bible, and pilot treatment, culminating in a pitch presentation to invited industry guests.
Cultural Integrity & Peer Support – Foster relationships and community in a supportive environment that honours Indigenous knowledge, storytelling traditions, and voice. Gain essential understanding and build your skills with the following:
Travel & Accommodation Support: Selected participants are encouraged to apply for travel support through the Indigenous Screen Office, provincial agencies or other funders. WFF will facilitate transportation between Vancouver and Whistler, and accommodation during the Festival. WFF will assist in ensuring equitable access.
