Women in Animation’s Fumi Kitahara Membership and Scholarship Fund supports aspiring creators who may face financial barriers by providing access to a 12-month WIA Creator-Level Membership at no cost.
The fund was originally launched in 2023 as the WIA Membership Fund and was reimagined in 2025 in honour of longtime WIA friend and board member Fumi Kitahara. The initiative is intended to help remove barriers and create more access to resources, community, mentorship, and professional support within the animation industry.
The Membership Fund is available to new WIA members who have not previously joined WIA, as well as WIA members who have not donated at any level in the past year, with priority given to those in financial need.
Please note this application is for the Membership Fund only, not the higher education scholarship program.
