The Fund for the Arts on the North Shore (FANS) is here to help, with the FANS Grant Program. Over the past 30 years, FANS has provided over $128,000 in cash grants to local artists to assist in the pursuit of their creative goals.

Applications are welcomed from both emerging and established artists who are currently active in their artistic discipline and are currently living on the North Shore (North & West Vancouver + Bowen Island & Lions Bay).

The FANS Grant Program provides project grants to assist emerging and established North and West Vancouver artists of all ages who are interested in developing their artistic practice. Artists must be currently active in their particular discipline and intend to continue pursuing their practice. From cutting a new CD, to developing a website, or purchasing materials to create a new artwork, FANS is here to help.

Applicants must be currently living on the North Shore (North & West Vancouver + Bowen Island & Lions Bay) or must prove that the majority of their creative work takes place there. FANS welcomes applications from all individual artists including indigenous artists and those with marginalized experiences.

Eligible artists may apply for awards under one of the following categories:

  • Research or Professional Development

  • Artistic Production

  • Marketing Development

  • Indigenous Arts

  • Other

Grant funds are generated from the annual investment income of FANS endowment, managed by the North Shore Community Foundation.

As of December 2025, the FANS Board is pleased to announce that it has provided our local artists with 116 grants funding that has a combined total value of $128,000.
