TELUS STORYHIVE is hosting its 2026/27 Creator Kickoff, a free online event offering creators across B.C. and Alberta a first look at upcoming funding opportunities, refreshed programs, and premieres.
The session is intended for both first-time applicants and returning STORYHIVE creators. Participants will hear directly from STORYHIVE Program Managers, learn about upcoming grants and program changes, and have an opportunity to ask questions about preparing future applications. No previous production experience is required.
Upcoming Grant Programs
TELUS STORYHIVE Video Podcasts
The upcoming Video Podcasts program will offer $10,000 grants to creators.
The program supports new and emerging video podcasters, combining production funding with training, community support, and distribution opportunities through TELUS platforms.
The current STORYHIVE Video Podcast model supports locally reflective nonfiction podcasts with a video component. STORYHIVE

TELUS STORYHIVE Digital Series
The new Digital Series program, formerly known as Voices, will offer grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000.
The program will use a tiered grant model supporting creators for up to five seasons, providing opportunities for creators to continue developing an existing series over multiple seasons. STORYHIVE

Creators interested in this stream can attend the program-specific Ask Us Anything session on January 19, 2027, where the STORYHIVE team will answer questions about eligible content, applications, and the program. Eventbrite
TELUS STORYHIVE Films: Social Impact
Films: Social Impact, formerly known as Editions, will provide $20,000 grants for upcoming projects. STORYHIVE
Additional information about eligible projects, application requirements, and the new Social Impact focus is expected as STORYHIVE launches the upcoming intake.

Creators funded through STORYHIVE retain 100% ownership of their content. STORYHIVE
The Creator Kickoff will conclude with a Q&A. Participants can submit program questions when registering. Separate Ask Us Anything sessions are also available for creators who want more detailed information about a specific funding stream.
