Dana and Mica are frequent collaborators and have worked on a series of Oddfellows Pictures features shot in B.C. including LONGLEGS, THE MONKEY, and most recently Kane Parson’s iteration of BACKROOMS.
Join us as we discuss how their knowledge and artistry with props, costumes, and design contributed to bringing the deeply unsettling, liminal horroscape to life on the big screen.

Speaker Bios
- Dana Bontempo is a filmmaker born and raised in so-called “Vancouver”. Since an early age he has been enthralled with cinema primarily upon watching King Kong (2005) at SilverCity with his dad. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Motion Picture Arts from Capilano University in 2018, he has been active in the local industry within the props department while continuing to make personal independent films and music videos. Recently, Dana has found success in collaborating with a small, like-minded cohort on films such as Longlegs (2024), The Monkey (2025), and Backrooms (2026).
- Mica Kayde is a Vancouver-based Costume Designer and wardrobe stylist with over 10 years of experience crafting compelling visual narratives across film, television, commercials, and print. Known for her eye for detail and collaborative approach, Mica brings characters to life through thoughtful, intentional design. Her work spans a diverse range of projects, reflecting her versatility and deep understanding of how costume shapes story.
