RBC’s BIPOC Emerging Producer Program offers a new financing solution to eligible emerging producers who identify as Black, Indigenous and / or as a person of colour, to provide access to interim production financing loans of up to $500,000.
As part of RBC’s on-going commitment to promote access to capital for BIPOC business owners in addition to our continuing support of emerging artists, RBC’s BIPOC Emerging Producer Program creates access to capital by way of interim financing for production loans and access to experts by way of the Media & Entertainment Banking Specialists.
Who is eligible?
- Applicants who self-identify as Black, Indigenous and/or as a person of colour
- Applicants who are producers that are considered emerging (see below)

Eligibility
- Applicants who self-identify as Black, Indigenous and/or as a person of colour
- Applicants who are emerging producers, defined as:
- screen-based producer who has not yet acquired extensive experience but has at least 1 credit (in a supporting capacity as a writer, director, associate producer, etc.) in a professionally-produced, screen-based project (digital or TV series, short or feature) and
- less than 24 months in operation (shown by way of incorporated parent company financials) and/or 2 or fewer completed and delivered productions under their parent company’s operation.
Production Requirements
- Productions eligible under this program will be those supported by way of license agreement with a CRTC Broadcaster
- Evidence of project finance by way of Investment Grade Counterparties
- Projects to be fully funded to full amount of budget
- Loan Amount From $100,000 to a maximum of $500,000
Budget Size $500,000 to approximately $2 Million
