Facility Assistant at Industrial Light & Magic

The role involves a wide range of duties which help to support all aspects of the daily studio operations. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and enjoy providing a high level of customer service.

This role is considered Onsite, which means the employee will work 100% onsite 5 days a week at a Company designated location. This position is open to B.C. residents only who currently have the right to work in Canada.

What You’ll Do:

  • Kitchen support, ensuring the space is clean, help set up and take down events
  • Make sure the meeting rooms and specialty rooms are in a clean and tidy state
  • Stock and organize kitchen and office supplies throughout the day, and track supply levels for the weekly orders list
  • Assist with equipment and furniture management, including inventory, maintenance schedules, storage organization and equipment distribution
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including mail distribution, maintaining an organized mail room, receiving food and equipment deliveries
  • Maintain studio notice boards and disseminate studio communication as required
  • Support the Facilities team to ensure studio aesthetics and safety are kept to a high standard
  • Assist with internal and external event set-up and take-down, as well as the running of the events including food and drinks
  • Support new hire set ups, moving equipment, providing tours, and answering questions
  • Assist with desk bookings using the hotel desk reservation application
  • Assist with front desk coverage, including greeting employees, vendors and visitors, answer questions
  • Support security procedures including badge distribution and collection, ensuring guests have completed an NDA, and general vigilance of the space
  • Photocopying, filing, updating digital trackers, replying to email requests and helpdesk tickets

What We’re Looking For:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, and preferably a Serving it Right Certification
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills, can build relationships and is passionate about creating a positive and creative culture
  • Applies critical and creative thinking to complete tasks in a time-efficient manner
  • Works well within a team environment but can also complete tasks independently
  • Reliable, trustworthy with a “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multitask and be flexible with changing needs
  • Experience using Google G Suites and strong working knowledge of Windows, MS Office package

The hiring range for this position in Vancouver is C$36,200 to C$46,300 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other variable pay or benefits, may be offered dependent on the level and position offered.
