Lighting / Electrics

Responsible for everything electrical on the set. Supplying electrical power to all departments that need it and handling all the lights on set and anything that is attached to the lights.

What does working in this department look like? 

The Lighting/Electrics department works with the Director of Photography (DOP) to design, set-up and control the lighting. This team also supports the camera department’s electrical needs.

Skills needed

  • Electrician training/education and appropriate certification, familiarity with equipment used in film and television production.

Experience

  • Previous work experience in lighting in theatre, or a professional film or television production.
